New AT&T Manufacturer - Amoi Smartphones
The FCC has revealed that Cingular (The new AT&T) will carry a new manufacturer’s smartphone. The chinese electronics manufacturer, Amoi, has allowed AT&T to use their brand on the Amoi 6711 smartphone. To clarify, the model has been branded as the AT&T SMT5700, but was manufactured by Amoi.
The smartphone boasts a full qwerty keyboard, and is running Windows 5.0 with Bluetooth. Since the model will be used with AT&T, it’s obvious that the smartphone will operate on GSM. The model will also have EDGE.
The model also is believed to have a 2.0 mega-pixel camera. If you read reports about the 3GSM conference, you will find that there were several reports of Amio phone coming to the U.S., particularly to AT&T.
If you look closely at the model, you will see that it actually shows AT&T’s logo. This is the first model we’ve seen that has AT&T’s logo instead of Cingular’s. We’ll be seeing a lot of that in the future.
