Cingular $1.3 Billion Project In L.A. - What?

Cingular Project In L.A.Source: Cingular Wireless

Cingular released today that they have complete a $1.3 billion project to upgrade and expand service in the greater Los Angeles area. They spent $6 billion nationwide.

Wow that’s fun for the people in L.A.! They got 21 percent of Cingular’s budget for the whole country.

Does anyone see something wrong with this picture? What in the world?

People in the forums talk about Cingular’s service as spotty at best, even though they claim to have the best service that could ever be created. (at least in this universe) So maybe before they turn this into a super achievement, they should learn how to spread the love around a little more evenly.

They added,

“Now as part of AT&T, we will continue our momentum and focus on delivering a strong network, innovative wireless products and services and a quality customer experience in 2007.”

For a little extra touch they should have added, “in L.A.” To all the readers in L.A., please don’t take offense. I’m happy for you guys. You live in the center of the universe. The rest of us live on Mars.

To be fair, there is no doubt that Cingular’s service coverage has improved drastically in the last few years. (especially in southern California) Cingular has spent $13 billion improving coverage in the United States in the last two years.
