Apple iPhone Ad on 5th Avenue, New York

This is a picture of an ad that Apple ran at their store on 5th Avenue, in New York City.
The ad was brought to our attention by Scott Robinson. The ad says,”Introducing iPhone, Apple reinvents the phone.”
As far as we’re concerned Apple will do exactly what they think they’ll do: They will totally take over the smartphone market. They won’t get the diehard business people, they’ll stay with Palm and Blackberry, but they will get literally millions of people that don’t own smartphones right now.
Not one person on the staff of this site owns a smartphone right now, but I’d be willing to bet that at least a few of us will get the iPhone. Apple has taken the smartphone market to people that wouldn’t get one otherwise.
We have had some comments lately from people saying that people won’t buy iPhones because they’re so expensive. Do any of you remember when people said that about the iPod? It was the most expensive mP3 player available, and everyone was saying that it was way too expensive to make a significant impact. That must be why Apple only sold an iPod to 6,582,440,894 out of the 6,582,440,895 people that inhabit this planet.
Check back with us in two years, it’s very likely that this site will be 90% iPhone information. ![]()
