Amp’d Mobile reported earlier today that their subscriber base grew around 70% during the first quarter of 2007. They reportedly sign up 80,000 new customers, bringing their total to around 175,000. The Samsung SCH-u740 is a very unique handset; the model flips open two different ways, although it looks like a normal model.
When opened vertically, the model shows a normal, numerical keypad that the caller can use to dial numbers in the normal fashion. When flipped horizontally, the model has a full QWERTY keyboard for faster text and email.

The black Verizon u740 by Samsung is on it’s way! It was spotted on the current mail-in rebate form for Verizon Wireless phones. The current model is not that attractive in champagne, so the black version was well-needed.
The black Samsung SCH-u740 will, of course, have the same features and specifications as the regular one. Watch for a post within the hour that shows the features and specs of the model.

The Verizon W385 by Motorola is coming very soon, at least it seems to be. The Motorola W385 is listed on one of Verizon’s current rebate forms. Hmmm… interesting. The rebate expires in May, so it’s very likely that model will be released within the next few weeks.
The W385 offers Krzr-like design at a competitive price. The model doesn’t have all the bells and whistles, but it looks really cool and is wicked slim. Here’s what we have on the W385 so far:
